A large religious memorial, Mangal Dham of Kalimpong is must visit place and it is one of the most significant religious places in the beautiful hill station of Kalimpong. The Mangal Dham was built in the loving memory of Guruji Shri Mangaldasji Maharaj. In the year of 1940 Guruji Shri Mangaldasji Maharaj arrived at Kalimpong and made it his home, he also owns several orphanages, temples constructed to serve God and humans; he also owns a school in Kalimpong. The temple spreads over an area of about two acres. The temple is very beautifully constructed and it also features a prayer hall and on top of the floor the idol if Raj Shyamji is placed. The Mangal Dham is dedicated to Lord Krishna and it was worked in the year of 1993. The road to the temple is very narrow but once you reach to this temple, you will filled up with full of positive and spiritual energy. The Dham premises are really clean, pleasant and well maintained as well. This temple area is so silent that the visitors will feel really good. There are several idols and especially Lord Krishna, Radha, Shiv ji, Parvati, Prannath, Raj Shyamji and Mangaldasji, which are available on the best floor of this sanctuary. Each idol significant some stories, many followers of Lord Krishna visits the Mangal Dham to offer a special prayer for healthy and prosperous life. There are few pictures which reflect the lives of Lord Krishna. It is said that Shri Dev Chandra Maharaj was the founder of this temple and it was build in the memory of Guruji Shri Mangaldasji Maharaj. This temple is so big and calm that one can spend quality time. To reach Mangal Dham one can hire a taxi from Kalimpong town or can book a cab for a whole day and include other sightseeing points of Kalimpong.
