Nongstoin is the headquarter of West Khasi Hills District surrounded by lush green hilly terrain. It is a heaven for adventure lovers. The main attraction of this tranquil hamlet is Nongkhnum Island, which is the biggest river island in Meghalaya and the second largest island in Asia.
Nongstoin Town
Another popular attraction among the tourists visiting Nongstoin is Embroidery Stone, which is a natural stone formation that has an embroidered design on it. Since 2015 the annual Nongkhnum Festival was held Nongkhnum River Island. The program conducts are right from pole climbing, trekking, beauty contest, to Moto-Cross and many more.

Langshiang Falls
The Langshiang Falls is located West Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. Also known as Kshaid Langshiang, it is near the village of Sangriang, Nongkhnum Road, 20 kilometres/ 1 hour from Nongstoin. It can also be seen from Mawpon village. One can walk from Sangriang Village for 30 min. to reach here.
Weinia Falls
Weinia Falls also known as Kshaid Weinia is located 15 kilometers/ 1 hr from Nongstoin town, the headquarter of West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. It’s near Nongkhnum Road. Earlier there was no motorable road to reach here, but now vehicles can reach till the waterfall location.
Kyllang Rock
At a distance of 57 km from Shillong, Kyllang Rock is massive red granite dome-shaped rock located at Mawshut, Nongkhlaw - North of Mairang town in West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya state.
Mawthadraishan Peak
Mawthadraishan peak which takes an hour and a half to reach from the main road, is located on the northern side of Nongstoin - Shillong road, near Nongshillong, Mawroh and Markasa villages. It is about 70 kms from Shillong on the Nongstoin road.
Nongkhnum Island
Nongkhnum River Island is the biggest river island in Meghalaya and the second biggest river island in Asia, after Majuli Island in Assam. It is at a distance of about 63 km from Mairang Sub‐Division.
Wah Rilang
Wah Rilang view point is also called the green desert as the hills surrounding the river looks like sand dunes covered with green forest. 5km from Mawkyrwat at Mawranglang is a beautiful valley on the Nongstoin - Mawkyrwat road meandering across the river. It is convenient picnic and angling spot. The view point is just relaxing and with the fresh air around.
