The Udayan Buddha Bihar is one of the oldest Buddhist temples of Buddha and it is located at Pecharthal market at North Tripura and the distance from District HeadQuarter Kailashahar is almost 33 kilometers and from Agartala the capital city of Tripura it is almost at a distance of 136 kilometers which is approx 5 hours drives. The Pecharthal market place is on the way to National Highway NH44 and it was established in the year of 1933. The Udayan Buddha Bihar is an important tourist attraction and the number of tourists visits this place since the North district of Tripura is not so big but the Buddhist temple id the most beautiful Buddhist temple of the entire region. If you ever plan to do a Buddhist circuit tour then it is must to add Udayan Buddha Bihar too since many local travel companies also organizes a tours to Buddha Temple. The idol is prepared for “Osto Dhatu” 8 types of metals, 4.5 ft. height and weighs 300 Kg. Hundreds of devotees from nearby land gathers in the time Buddha Jayanti in Buddha Purnima in the month of April/May. The idol was brought from Rangoon and the deity is not so big, but still said to weigh 700 kgs. To reach Pecharthal one needs to reach Agartala first and Agartala is accessible by air, train, and by road. The nearest airport to reach Pecharthal is Agartala airport and from Agartala airport one needs to take a cab and the distance from the airport to Pecharthal is almost 171 kilometers by road. The nearest railway station is the Pecharthal railway station which is almost 171 kilometers away from Agartala. All the nearest cities like Guwahati, Silchar, Shillong, Agartala are connected with Pecharthal by bus and other small vehicles hence it is easily accessible by road.
