THAMBI
VIEW POINT
Thambi View
Point in Zuluk is a nature's gem, reached through a challenging road with 32
hairpin loops. At 11,200 meters, it provides stunning views of the Himalayas
and Mount Kanchenjunga. The route is known for its scenic beauty, and the spot
is famous for dreamy sunrises and sunsets.
Best times to visit are January to April and August to September, especially
for sunrise at 4 am.
NATHANG
VALLEY
Nathang
Valley in Sikkim is a winter paradise for adventure lovers, offering skiing
facilities. It's a must-visit in December, with nearby attractions like Thambi
View Point and Changu Lake. Ideal for various travelers.
Best times to visit are June to September and September to January.
LUNGTHUNG
Lungthung, a
remarkable spot in Zuluk, is renowned for its panoramic views of Kanchenjunga
and the Himalayas. Perched on a snow-covered hill, it offers a stunning winter
landscape. Only 14 km from Thambi View Point, Lungthung is surrounded by dense,
wildlife-filled forests. Located in Nathang Valley, it's a must-visit, with the
best times being May to July (Rainy Season) and January to April (covered in snow).
KUPUP LAKE
Kupup Lake in
East Sikkim, known as the Elephant Lake, is a must-visit spot in Zuluk. It
features landmarks like the highest Golf Course globally and hosts water polo
games. Best times to visit are April to July for clear views and the sight of
wildflowers during spring and summer.
MENMECHO
LAKE
Menmecho
Lake, a Zuluk gem in North East Sikkim, offers stunning sightseeing surrounded
by Jelep La Mountains. Best visited from June to December, this lake is the
source of the Rangpo-Chu River, with snow covering it from January to May.
Special permits are required for the 60 km trip from Gangtok.
TUKLA VALLEY
Tukla Valley in Zuluk is a key sightseeing spot with
breathtaking views of the Tibetan highlands and the Himalayas, including Mt.
Kanchenjunga. The valley houses a war memorial dedicated to fallen British
soldiers from the Battle of Tukla. Ideal for visits in May and June, the valley
is snow-covered for most of the year, with harsh winters and cool, colorful
summers.
KALPOKHARI
LAKE
Nestled
in captivating mountainous surroundings, Kalpokhari Lake stands out as one of
Sikkim's finest. Winter transforms it into a dreamy frozen landscape, while the
vibrant green valleys and blooming flowers make summers and spring the optimal
times to experience its full beauty.
Ideal
for visits from November to June.
OLD BABA MANDIR
Old
Baba mandir is a less-known Zuluk tourist spot that comes on the way to the
Nathang Valley. Dedicated to Sepoy Harbhajan Singh, a veteran of 1962
Indo-China war, the temple reminds the sacrifices he made during the war. The
first bunker built by Harbhajan Singh, his bed, his dresses and many such
memorabilia are preserved here. The temple is well-maintained by the cloud warrior
regiment of Indian Army.
Best time to visit: January to April
TSOMGO LAKE
Welcome
to the most scenic Zuluk tourist spot formed naturally when snow melts and
shows remarkable scenes of the valley. One of the best things about the lake
are the leisure activities including yak rides, sipping tea or eating a plate
of snacks, sitting by the lakeside. How you choose to spend your time around
the lake is your choice. But do take your camera with you!

NATHULA PASS
Nathu
La is a mountain pass connecting India with Tibet Autonomous Region. The pass
is situated at a mammoth height of 14,140 feet above sea level. Up until 1962,
the pass was of great importance because it was the intersection of trade via the
Old Silk Route.
