NIMAS is a National of Mountaineering and Allied Sports which is located in Dirang of the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh in India. The specialized training provided by the National of Mountaineering and Allied Sports in mountaineering, adventure sports and training in mountain rescue is under the Ministry of Defense of Government of India. The National of Mountaineering and Allied Sports was established in the year 2011 during the month of October. National of Mountaineering and Allied Sports is the only institute that offers activities and courses for land, Air and Water adventure activities. The National of Mountaineering and Allied Sports journey was slow and steady one Though the National of Mountaineering and Allied Sports was established in the year 2011 the Government pass the mandate in the year 2012 only. After the successful collaboration between the Ministry of Defense of Government of India and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh the National of Mountaineering and Allied Sports finally made the institute not just the first of its kind in the state but also in India. One of the main roles of the NIMAS campus is to act as the base camp for all the different programs that the institute conducts. Dirang is easily accessible from Tawang, where most of the mountaineering activities are conducted as well as East Kameng, where students are taken for their training in rafting and aero sports. The view of Dirang is really wonderful and mesmerizing. From Dirang town the National of Mountaineering and Allied Sports is only 13 minutes away. One can easily reach the National of Mountaineering and Allied Sport from Dirang town and the taxies are also easily available.
