Eco tours present environmentally friendly ways of exploring their destinations in their pristine natural setting. During such tours, the efforts are made to keep the natural heritage of the region intact and undisturbed while discovering the mountains, rivers, wildlife forests and other eco-sensitive hotspots in the country. Rubber plantation is one of the important commercial crops of Tripura and the large amount of revenue is earned from this crop cash by the government of Tripura. The botanical name of the rubber plant is Havea brasiliensis and it produces sticky the white latex which is collected and processed to produce rubber. In India, there are two states which are known for rubber plantation and one of the states is Tripura of Northeast India. It is tucked away in isolation from the urban life and the heat and dust of Agartala city is a sleepy hamlet of Nagaicherra. A decade ago Tripura Forest had launched a rubberwood processing centre providing lively hood to hundred-odd people including skilled carpenters who contribute to the growth and development of the Centre. Now a day’s rubberwood could be converted into excellent raw materials for durable furniture’s, boards and doors through processing. There are a couple of rubber plantations near the village. Before tapping the rubber plant on a regular basis it has to be grown for seven years and immature plants are those whose age is less than seven years. The mature plants are those plants which are grown more than seven years. The rubber plantation is analyzed as one of the main sources of income in Tripura a number of people are depending upon rubber plantation. The rubber plantation in Tripura is almost 125 kilometres away from Agartala the capital city of the state and in every mature rubber plant, there is a coconut cup where the liquid is collected and later it is taken to processing unit. There is also a Ramakrishna Mission School, Viveknagar near Agartala where the local people can learn the rubber making process. The school keeps the processed pieces of rubber, and then sells them to local traders.
