Tezpur is located on the bank of the River Brahmaputra and the city is also known as City of eternal romance. Tezpur is one of the ideal honeymoon destinations. The Mahabhairab Temple contributes a lot of a magnetic charm and beauty to this place. The ancient Mahabhairab Temple was made of stone as it is believed by the locals but however it was constructed by the demon king Banasura who had his capital at Tezpur. Shivratri is the most important festival celebrated and observed at the fullest in Mahabhairab Temple of Tezpur and it is celebrated amidst great pomp and glory. Many people from around the country visit this place since it is also one of the must-visit tourist destinations of Tezpur. Devotees and tourists come here from not only different parts of India but the whole world to take part in the celebrations and ask blessings from the lord. Since the Mahabhairav temple is a historical and an ancient temple which is traced back to the age of Mahabharata. There are many places to visit in and around the Mahabhairav Temple like the Agnigarh where the fierce battle was fought by Lord Krishna and Banusara and it is also the place where Prince Aniruddha and Princess Usha used to meet.

Another must-visit place is Padum Pukhuri and the main tourist attraction of this place especially for children are boating and toy train ride. One can also enjoy the musical fountain which is played every evening on the island, and the cool winds in the island are awesome. The cole park is another must-visit place and this park is also known as Chitralekha Park and the park is named after the companion of Princess Usha, whose name was Chitralekha and she was an excellent painter. Tezpur can be visited by any mode of transportation like air, train or by road. From Mahabhairab Temple the Tezpur airport is almost 7 kilometers away and it is well connected by road.
