When you think of Bhutan, nightclubs and parties don’t really come to mind. But believe it or not, Bhutan does have a nightlife.  

We’ve listed a few places you can head to if partying is your thing or you just want to listen to some good music over a drink.

 

Mojo Park: If you love live music, then Mojo Park is the best venue. Most of the artists across Bhutan perform here. The vibe is excellent and the sound is surprisingly good. Its interiors, however, are mediocre: low ceilings, sticky floors, and dingy-looking. This is the only nightclub that is open 7 days a week.

Om bar: Om bar is located in Jojo’s shopping Complex, which is situated in the Chang Lam neighborhood of Thimpu. The locals swear by this place and usually head here to unwind and spend some chilled time after a long day at work. Travelers who have visited this bar have also been known to fall in love with it. The place stocks a wide variety of drinks and signature cocktails. 

Space 34: Located in the heart of Thimphu, Space 34 is a nightclub & lounge and been around for over 10 years. The nightclub has a live music bar, a smoking bar area, and a dance floor. The club hosts live performances. The Illuminati Bar, as they like to call it, is the longest bar in Thimphu. The lounge is pretty comfortable where you can enjoy a relaxed smoke and a drink. The interiors are plush, so if you want to party in style, then come here.

Viva City: This is the next best night club besides Space 34 in Thimphu. Viva City has a lounge area where local bands and singers perform. It has a big open air seating outside and serves food and snacks. Thi-goers, who start trickling after 11:00 pm. The club is open till 1:00 am in the morning on weekends. Wednesday night is Ladies night.
