Acquiring second-hand suitcases is also an option for any would be traveler but going around looking for hand me down luggage is a bit disheartening, especially if you know that with just a click of a mouse button you'd be able to shop around for brand new but relatively cheap suitcases.

Lastly, you need to learn about what kind of material is best for your type of traveling and where you are planning to go to, some materials that make up your cheap suitcases might not be able to handle salt water and humid air, other materials might just chafe and crack in hot or cold weather, other materials making up your suitcase might expand or contract depending on the temperature and other materials might be susceptible to fungus or insect infestation given the right conditions. So, better research online and see if the cheap suitcases you've been eying will really be cheap in the long run.
