India is an amazing land that has a rich history dating back to thousands of years. No wonder tourists from all across the world make a beeline to visit this enchanting land that has fascinated invaders and conquerors that choose to make this their home.

Get to see everything…
Starting from the Himalayas in the North, to the Arabian Sea in the West and the Bay of Bengal in the East, India has a rich diversity of landscapes that offer visitors a chance to explore all kinds of terrains. Besides this, you also get to see the Thar Desert in the West and explore dense forests in Central India. Moving eastward, you get to see the scenic natural beauty of the North–Eastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Meghalaya, and Sikkim.

Whatever that you want to see be it the snow clad mountains, seas or the dessert, you will get it all here and this is the main reason, why travel agents sell special type of packages that target one area of interest like Nature tours, Pilgrimage tours, Wildlife tours, etc.

Find tranquility in these places…
Foreigners coming to India in search of tranquility, often visit places like Haridwar, Rishikesh where they can partake in the daily rituals to worship the Ganges. Some tourists also visit the Holy Shrine of Vaishno Devi that requires pilgrims to ascend fourteen kilometers of treacherous terrain in order to have a glimpse of the shrine. Some others who have more stamina and conviction embark on the Holy Amarnath Yatra where tourists make an annual pilgrimage to see the ice stalagmite Lingam that is formed after the melted ice flows from the rocks and forms an idol.

Travel a bit southward and you will see the hot springs in Manikaran in Himachal Pradesh that are said to have medicinal properties. Similar such shrines abound in various regions of the country that offer satisfaction and succor to the pilgrims. Baijnath Dham in Bihar, Bodh Gaya and Puri in Orissa are other places where one can find peace of mind.

If you believe in meditation, then you can even make a trip to Gyan Sarovar, the supreme hub of Rajyoga Meditation in Mount AbuFree Articles, Rajasthan. There are many different faiths that have their holy shrines in India. All you need to do is to plan your tour in such a way that you visit these shrines when the rush is less that will help you to make the most of your memorable trip to India.
