Namprikdang is the village near the entry point of Upper Dzongu. It is located 8 kms from Mangan and 60 kms from Gangtok. There is a model Lepcha house with implements and tools (one has to call the local coordinator from the village of Passingdang for the keys to the house). It was inaugurated on 5th January, 2003. It comprises of three rooms. The ceiling called 'Phadong' (attic) is used to store valuable items. This house is open to tourists, both foreigners and domestic throughout the year and visitors can admire the antique artifacts displayed.
The forest nursery and garden next the model house is also a good place to look butterfly and bird sighting. Namprikdang is situated near the confluence of two rivers - Kanaka and Teesta, a sight not to be missed as the two mighty rivers join.
The village has the community ground where the annual New Year festival of Namsoong is held. Visitors admire the pristine beauty of the flora and fauna especially during the annual Namsoong festival.
