The villages of Pentong & Sakyong are situated in Mangan subdivision, North Sikkim district, Sikkim. It is situated 34 kms away from Mangan. As per 2019 stats, Pentong & Sakyong villages come under Dzongu assembly & Sikkim parliamentary constituency. The total geographical area of village is 1459 hectares. Villages have a total population of 171 peoples. There are about 37 houses in Pentong & Sakyong village.
This Place is in the border of the North District, South District and East District. Majority of people speak Nepali language here. The village has two hillocks which offer great viewpoints. As the legend goes they are called Tarbi and Tarbot by the locals and are considered the guards of Mount Khangchendzonga. Tarbi is considered as a local deity, the benevolent one while Tarbot is a demon. Both are both powerful and compete against each other which affect the local villagers so to keep them satisfied and calm the villagers give them offerings.
