Darjeeling Himalayan railway is one of the prime attractions of Darjeeling. It commences from New Jalpaiguri and ends in the hills of Darjeeling. The whole journey, passing through hilly terrain, is an enthralling one. Nick named “Toy Trains”, the trains run on meter gauge and are pulled by stem engines.

Another important attraction of Darjeeling is the sunrise witnessed from Tiger hill. About two thousand and six hundred meters high, Tiger hill is the summit of Ghoom which is the highest railway station on Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.
