In the year of 1850, the first tea garden of Assam was established and the name of the first tea garden of Assam was the Cinnamora Tea Estate, the tea garden was set up and founded by Maniram Dewan who used to work as a sirastadar of an assistant commissioned and it was attached under the British Government who was posted at Jorhat in Assam. The distance from the main city Jorhat to the first tea garden of Assam Cinnamora Tea Estate is almost 10 kilometre which is almost thirty minutes drive by the connected road. The tea garden looks very beautiful especially during the peak harvest season. One can visit the tea garden and enjoy walking on the narrow lanes between the tea garden where the narrow lanes are bounded by the short tea bushes. The tea garden in its season has the most beautiful green aura that will soothe your eyes and gives a much-needed calmness provided with the enriching tea tasting at the garden itself. The Cinnamora Tea Estate of Jorhat in Assam is one of the ideal places to learn about how the tea is harvested. Many tourists visit the first tea garden of the northeastern state of Assam and they really enjoy visiting this beautiful and picturesque tea garden of Jorhat. On arrival of the tourist are always welcome by the tea workers and spend time talking to the tea workers and learning more about the tea plantation, the difficulties the tea workers face during the plantation and about the tea harvesting. One can reach the Cinnamora Tea Estate easily by road since the road is very well connected by road from the nearest city Jorhat. Visitors can hire a private cab; take a public transportation or any mode of transportation to reach the Cinnomora Tea Estate from the city Jorhat. The nearest airport is Jorhat airport and the nearest railway station is Jorhat railway station, from both the airport and railway station one can take a taxi to reach the destination.
