On a road trip you understandably would want it to be an enjoyable stress free experience. Before you pack up the car, check out these travel tips.

You drive the car if it is still sporting winter tires so make the necessary switch. A pound of air pressure disappears from a standard tire each month be smart and check those on your tires. Road and tires contact is enhanced by correct tire inflation which is also why blowouts and tread separations are prevented.

Fluids need to be monitored. Change the car oil if it has not been already. The owner manual for your vehicle includes oil suggestions from the car maker. With the hood open look at the coolant antifreeze mix inside the radiator. A 50 to 50 coolant to water ratio is the ideal for achieving optimized thermal regulation in both summer and wintry weathers.

Examine the rest of the automobile. Do not go without having all the belts and hoses of the car checked first. Make sure your wiper blades are still in tiptop shape and not over the average lifespan of one year. A car battery that is four or five years old must go straight to the repair shop to be looked at and assessed for reliability in the long drive ahead.

Your car should be equipped with an emergency kit. Use the cargo area to store flashlights as well as first aid kits and flares plus jumper cables and a blanket to keep clothes clean in case a tire has to be changed. You never know when supplies will run out so be sure to pack spare clothing and water plus some non perishable goods and a bunch of tools including pliers and screwdrivers plus other items you deem essential.

A lot of people do not stop with just one cooler or pillow and simply have to cram everything they could possibly think of for the road trip. Drop this habit and pack only what is important. Put the shampoo back in the shower you have another one waiting where you are going. Do you really need to bring eight pairs of shorts when you will have access to a washer/dryer?

Never pack the items you decided to take along so high they block your external vision. Make the car load even on all sides and if using a pickup to haul something keep the weightiest materials in the middle of the vehicle for easy handling.

Most accidents on the road are the result of people nodding off while driving. Make absolutely sure you get a good night's rest before spending a long time behind the wheel. You get a brief shot in the arm from caffeinated coffee but it later dissipates leaving you feeling drowsy. Switch with another driver hourly and stop over somewhere often. A small bladder might seem frustrating but it actually is responsible for reducing the dangers of freeway fatigue as it forces people to make stopovers for the bathroom often.

The road rage usually stems from the lack of sleep plus the exhaustion and the trying to keep kids entertained in the backseat. Word to the wise keep your cool. Your car signals work so use them and if confronted by faster drivers give way and absolutely never tailgate. If people were just a little nicer to each other then road rage would be a distant memory. The road trips during the summer will be extremely pleasant given these travel tips.
