Travel today isn’t just about capturing the place on celluloid. It is more about living the experience again and again by penning down what one sees and does.

The twenty-first century is the age of blogs and bloggers. Many have left their jobs and have taken this road that has been less traveled on until lately. While traveling may be the passion of these people, sharing their experiences with the world is what they offer through their blogs and writings.

Here is a comprehensive list of some great travel blogs to watch out for;

  • Reaching For the Stars -

Shooting Star is the child of young blogger Shivya Nath. As expected, she quit her job in the corporate field and pursued her passion of travel and writing. Her blog focuses on places that are not so popular of the tourist trail thus setting it apart from other blogs. Going by the blog, Shivya has been to over 20 countries and has covered 4 continents in the bargain. The fact that she travels solo is such an inspiration for all aspiring travel bloggers. Take time to follow her blog and do read some of her posts.

  • Nomadic Madness -

Niranjan Das has his travel blog names as ‘Tales of a Nomad.’ Indeed the blog is about the nomad in him that makes hi travel across the country. His blog narrates his experiences as he rides through forests and plains, goes on daring trekking trails and chugs along on some amazing train journeys. He has also written about his trips to Malaysia and Mauritius. One of his writings on the Hoysala Temple at Somnathpur got published in the newspaper, The Hindu. One should go through the works of this man.

  • Temples and Paths Unknown -

A well-known name in this arena is Lakshmi Sharath whose blog has been nominated for the Indian Blogger Awards. She travels far and wide across the country and visits little villages and temples, capturing pictures and writing about these places. Let us tell you that she quit her corporate career of 12 years and took to travel blogging. Her blog is offbeat and rampant with tales and events that she experiences while on her trips to learn more about the Indian fabric. You may just be surprised to find some of the villages on her blog may have never been heard of before, nor is it on any map! This is why we thought that we ought to include this on our list of best travel blogs.

  • Bazaar Mania -

While most people feature villages, hill stations and beaches in their blogs, Kiran Keswani’s, ‘Indian Bazaars’ focuses on  (you may have guessed it by now) the various bazaars in the country. Yes, she has been to most of the bazaars in the country. This includes street side set up’s, village haatsHealth Fitness Articles, roadside markets that wow the Indian buyer. Kiran is an architect based out of Bangalore with a passion and flair for blogging.
