One of the famous Hindu Temple, Bhubaneswari Temple is located in Udaipur a Sub-divisional of Agartala and it is 55 kilometers away from Agartala the capital city of Tripura in the northeastern state of India. Udaipur was once the famous places of the Manikya Dynasty Rulers though it was a small town it was really beautiful from the ancient period only. Before shifting capital to Agartala, Udaipur was the official residence of the Manikya dynasty and the capital of the kingdom.

The Bhubaneswari Temple is one of the oldest temples in the state of Tripura and the Bhubaneswari Temple was constructed in 17th Century by Maharaja Govinda Manikya in the year of 1660 to 1665 AD and the Bhubaneswari Temple was dedicated to Goddess Bhubaneswari. The Bhuvaneswari Temple has been immortalized by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore in his novel ‘Rajarshi’ and drama ‘Bisharjan’. The temple is situated beside the river Gomati and is located close to the old royal palace which lies in ruins today. The Bhubaneswari temple is one of the great tourist attractions and a must-visit a place of Tripura, many visitors from West Bengal and different places visit the Bhubaneswari Temple. Some people from Bangladesh one of the neighboring countries of India also visits the Bhubaneswari Temple in Udaipur, Tripura. Most people from Bangladesh and West Bengal visit Bhuvaneswari Temple during the festival of Rajarshi. The site is a holy place for Hinduism and the people visits to offer a prayer for peace, healthy and wealthy life. The temple is beautifully constructed which has four chaala roofs, stupas at the entrance, and a core chamber that completes the architecture of the temple. It’s very beautiful with the typical architecture of that area. In the pillars of the temple flower-patterned motifs are highlighted, and Hindu devotees are seen most of the time in the religious destination of Udaipur in Tripura. As per the locals they hold a Monday fair for Shiva. The one has a very big statue and located in the Chandralok area. The ambiance is really good.
