Pokhara has lots of options regarding accommodation that varies from guest houses for cheap bag packers to luxury 5 * boutique hotels. The maiority of accommodation is around the Lakeside area. But for those looking for a little solitude there are also a number of more secluded options in the surrounding hills and town, Lakeside can be divided into distinct areas each of which have their own character.
NORTH LAKESIDE
Also known as Khahare, this area has some of the best lake views in town. Many of the hotels in this area are in the budget category and it is very popular with long- Term visitors and backpackers. You will find here local and unique restaurants & cafés, as well as adventure & travel agencies.
CENTRAL LAKESIDE
This is the buzzing heart of Lakeside. It's the place to shop, eat out, and arrange your next adventure or adrenaline rush. Hotels in this area range from lively places on the main street to peaceful resorts and lodge a short stroll away in the numerous side streets off Lakeside road.
SOUTH LAKESIDE
Also known as Gaurighat, this is the place to stay if you want the best views of the mountains. Many hotels here have sweeping panoramic views of Fishtail and the Annapurnas as well as Phewa Lake. This end of town is also close to both the Tourist Bus Park and the airport.
DAMSIDE
This was the original tourist hub of Pokhara, but nowadays tourists mostly stay in south to north Lakeside. Damside does offer panoramic views of the mountains and has dozens of hotels. Located in this area is the ACAP permit office and NTBS TIMS counter / Tourist information center.
