7 Adventure Activities to try in Mizoram

Lush green bamboo groves, dense jungles, abundance of rivers and a fair amount of hillocks and plateaus make Mizoram an interesting choice for adventure enthusiasts.

Trekking

Mizoram offers a lot of trekking opportunities in the thich green forests and stunning valleys that include Champai and Luglei Town. Another good spot for trekkers is the Phawangpui Peak in Mizoram. Tourists opting for trekking should have the comfortable sneakers and bottled water as they are necessary.

Boating

If you wish to enjoy boating, then you can go for the Tamdil Lake. Considered as a perfect spot for this leisure activity, the lake offers you the opportunity to relax in the beautiful surroundings. The spectacular view of valley between the hills is also worth appreciating.

Mountaineering

The most famous peak is the Blue Mountain where mountaineering can be enjoyed. Other popular climbing areas in Mizoram are ThalazaungKhamm, Mount Mawma and Mount Kahrie. The Durtlang Hills in the south of Aizwal are the high ridges that are covered by small villages. You can enjoy mountaineering between the months of September and October when the climate is moderate here.

Mountain Biking in Hmuifang Hill

Mountain biking is one of the best things to do in Mizoram and Hmuifang Hill has no other second. Hmuifang Hill is located at an altitude of around 1524m and provides unforgettable trails to be explored through biking. The hill runs from north to south and turns to be quite difficult to be explored. There are several routes in this hills that can be explored on a bike ride. Trail Baktawng, Trail Sialsuk, Trail Lungleng are the most significant among these trails. The hill top of Chawilung/Hmuifang/Sumsuih/Thiak village are the best option for amateur bike riders.

Angling

Bounded by dense tropical evergreen forests, Tamdil Lake in Aizwal District has an profound amount of fish species and prawns. Chhimtuipui River in Saiha District is also a great spot for tourists, looking forward to angling opportunities. The river offers salmon, local trout and catfish to grab onto. Lies in the southern region of Mizoram, Palak Lake includes various species of fish like Mahseer and Trout and crabs. Rungdil and Rengdil Lakes in the Aizwal District are the other popular lakes for angling.

Camping

The virgin forests of Mizoram offers great opportunities for camping. Phawangpui Peak, which is also called the Blue Mountain, is the perfect place for camping. Set amidst the lush green forests Tamdil Lake in Aizwal is a good camping place. There is also an option for hiring camping gears. You can enjoy campfire with the delicious food prepared by the campers.

Caving

Tourists can also discover the myths related to the caves of Mizoram. The popular caves are Pukzing and Lamsial caves in the Aizwal district, KungawrhiPuk Cave in the south east region and MiluPuk cave in the Lunglei district. All these caves have interesting stories containing the relics of the past.
