1. Enchey Monastery

This 200 years old monastery built in the site blessed by Lama Druptok Karpo is an important seat of Nyingmapa order of Buddhism. Every year around December / January, "Chaam" or religious masked dance is performed with fanfare for two days.

1. Rumtek Dharma Chakra Center

It is about 45 minutes drive from Gangtok (24 km) is the Rumtek Dharma Chakra Center, the seat of the Kagyud order of Tibetan Buddhism. Since, the 1960s, after the arrival of His Holiness the XVIth Karmapa, the center houses some of the world's mo unique religious scriptures and rare objects.

1. Pal Zurmang Kagyud Monastery

Lingdum Zurmang Kagyud Monastery, it is located at Lingdum, is at a distance of about 20 km from Gangtok. The present Gharwang Rinpoche is the 12th successive incarnation of the glorious emanation of Zurmang Gharwang. This is a place that is worth visiting for its religious and exquisite architecture and peaceful atmosphere.

1. Sa- Ngor Monastery

It is a Tibetan refugee monastic institution structured in 1961 by His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche, Head of Ngorpa, sub-sect of the Sakya Order, with the blessings of HH Sakya Trizin and HH the Dalai Lama. The only monastery of the Sakya Order of Tibetan Buddhism in Sikkim which is located on a beautiful hill top at a distance of 5 kms from Mg marg, Gangtok.
