The Martam Farmhouse is located in the serene village of Tikjuk, near Pelling, West Sikkim. This homestay immerses its guests into the typical Sikkimese rural way of life where guests can milk cows, feed the pigs and chickens, and walk through the organic farmland. Guests can also take a stroll at leisure along the serene countryside footpaths and relax in the evening at the farmhouse backyard sipping 'sei chyaang' a popular traditional alcoholic beverage thats sure to challenge a hundred pipers. The mouth-watering food is home-cooked traditional sikkimese-style cuisine (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) prepared from organically grown rice and vegetables, pure cow's milk, cheese, butter, and local poultry products. Nearby attractions include the Pemayangtse and Sanghachoeling monasteries, the Rhabdentse ruins of the second capital of the erstwhile kingdom of Sikkim, and the sacred Khecheopalri lake among many others.
