Balthali

A quaint settlement located in the Kavrepalanchowk District of Nepal. Balthali village is ideal for people wanting to spend some time in peace amid the greenery. The village is inhabited by the Tamang people which are an indigenous ethnic group within Nepal.  Although it’s close to the countries capital in distance, the tiny village of Balthali is a world apart.

Namobhuddha monastery
Namobuddha monastery

Only 2 hours further to Balthali village is Namobuddha monastery. This sacred site offers a splendid view and an interesting story. Legend has it this is the place where Shakyamuni Buddha was believed to have his body sacrificed himself to feed a starving tigress and her cobs some 6000 years ago in his previous life.

Tindhare waterfall

Tindhare Waterfall is located in Roshi Rural Municipality of Kavrepalanchok District in Nepal. It has a height of about 300 metres. The name of this waterfall is 'Tindhare' as it falls from the hill of Mahabharat Range in the form of three streams. It is one of the main attractions in Bathali.

One has to drive to Panauti town which is 34 km away from Kathmandu and takes around 1 & ½ hours. From Panauti, one has to drive to Bethanchowk (Dhunkharka) off-road which takes another 1 hour. From Bethanchowk, Bethanchowk hill is around 7 km uphill and normally takes 5 Hours.
