Tamenglong

Tamenglong is located in western Manipur lying on the hilltop from which descends the Barak River. It is 160 km west of Imphal, Manipur's capital city. This is one of the hilly towns of Manipur  bordering with Assam and home land of the Zeliangrong community with Rongmei as the most commonly spoken language in the town and surrounding area.

Tharon Cave

This mystical cave is home to the fruit bats, near the town of Tamenglong . There are four caverns which are locally called halls like Lotus hall, Dancing Hall, Meeting Hall. At the lower level there are about 12 smaller caves. Ther mapped length of the caves is approx 650 meters in length as it is a cave with minor development and local guides, appropriate clothes, helmet and headlamp are recommended.

Zailad Lake

This is a mystical and legendary lake of natural water where Haipou Jadonang got his strength and spiritual power to fight against the British and start the Heraka religious movement. Today the lake is the best spot for boating and other leisure activities.

Barak Waterfalls

Barak river flows through Tamenlong and the famous seven waterfalls on the river add to the beauty of the place.  The fact that all the seven waterfalls fall together magnify the beauty of the place. Water sports and rafting are common here. One of the falls is known as the Khoudong waterfall.
