DAY 1
Arrival Darjeeling

  • Arrive in Darjeeling and check in to your hotel.

  • Afternoon at leisure. Visit Chowrasta and stroll along the scenic Mall Road (Bhanu Sarani). Later visit old heritage shops like Habib Mullick and Jolly Arts (both on Mall Road), and buy some curios or souvenirs. 

  • In the evening, stroll along Nehru Road that leads down from the Mall.

DAY 2
Tiger Hill & Darjeeling 

  • You will go on the early morning 3-point tour which covers Tiger Hill (to view the sunrise from the highest point in Darjeeling), Old Ghoom Monastery, and Batasia Loop. 

  • Post breakfast, resume your sightseeing tour with the 7-point local tour which includes The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P N Zoological Park, Darjeeling ropeway, Tibetan Self Help Refugee Center, Lebong Race Course, Happy Valley Tea Estate, etc. 

  • Overnight at Darjeeling.
DAY 3
Darjeeling - Gangtok

  • Drive to the capital of Sikkim. You will visit the palace chapel and explore downtown Gangtok. 

  • Overnight stay in hotel.
DAY 4
Gangtok Sightseeing

  • The morning tour will cover Bhakthang Falls, Gunjam Monastery, Tashi Viewpoint, Smriti Van, and Ganesh Tok.  

  • Post lunch, the afternoon tour will cover Banjhakri Falls, Chorten Stupa, and Tashi Namgyal Institute of Tibetology.

  • The tour concludes with a drop at the ropeway/Hotel/M.G. Marg.

  • Overnight stay in Gangtok.
DAY 5
Gangtok - Rumtek – Gangtok 

  • Day trip to Rumtek Monastery followed by a drive to Martam, an idyllic village nestled in the midst of terraced paddy fields. 

  • Overnight stay in hotel.
DAY 6
Gangtok - Pelling - Pemayangtse Monastery 

  • Drive to West Sikkim. You will visit Pemayangtse Monastery in Pelling. The monastery's unique wooden carving demonstrates the various spiritual realms according to Buddhism.

DAY 7
Pemayangtse – Rabdentse

  • On the way back, you will visit the ruins of Rabdentse, the former capital of the kingdom of Sikkim.

DAY 8
Pemayangtse - Phuentsholing (Bhutan)

  • Drive to Phuentsholing, Bhutan.  

  • Once you reach the border town of Jaigaon, you will register your passports and receive your visas for Bhutan.
DAY 9
Phuentsholing - Thimphu

  • A beautiful mountain road brings us to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.

  • Rest of the day is at leisure.

  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.
DAY 10
Thimphu Sightseeing 

  • After breakfast, you will begin your local Thimphu sightseeing tour of the local attractions:

  • National Memorial Chorten or Thimpu Chorten.
  •  
  • Sakyamuni Buddha.
  • The Sakyamuni Buddha statue sits on top of Kuensel Phodrang Hill. The 51.5-meter-long bronze statue is a stunning attraction, and the location gives an uninterrupted view of the valley. 

  • Changangkha Lhakhang.
  • Changangkha Lhakhang is among the most important religious structures in Thimphu. 

  • The National Library
  • It has got a fabulous collection of Buddhist manuscripts which are priceless. It also houses the world’s largest published book which is about 130 pounds and 5X7 feet.

  • Textile Museum
  • Get to know the living national art of weaving at the Textile Museum. The exhibits introduce major weaving techniques, styles of local dress, and textiles made by women and men.

  • Takin Mini Zoo
  • See the national animal of Bhutan, the takin, which looks like a cross between a cow and a goat. 

  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.
DAY 11
Thimphu - Punakha 

  • In the morning, you will visit the traditional paper factory, the Memorial Chorten, and Tashichho Dzong. 

  • In the afternoon you will drive to Punakha.

  • Overnight stay in Punakha.
DAY 12
Punakha Sightseeing

  • Visit Punakha Dzong and the old and new towns of Punakha. 

  • In the afternoon you will visit Chimi Lhakhang and the town of Wangdue where you will visit Wangdue Dzong.

  • Overnight stay in Punakha
DAY 13
Punakha - Bumthang 

  • Drive to Bumthang. On the way, you will halt at Pelela Pass.

  • Lunch in Trongsa. 

  • Later, visit Trongsa Dzong. On the way to Bumthang, you can stop at the weaving factory.

  • Overnight stay in Bumthang.
DAY 14
Bumthang Sightseeing

  • Today you will visit Jakar Dzong, Jamphel Monastery, Kurje Monasteryand Tamshing Monastery. In addition, you can visit the Swiss Farm where cheese, apple juice, and brandies are produced. Finally, before returning to your hotel, visit the town of Chamkhar.

  • Overnight stay in Bumthang.
DAY 15
Bumthang - Punakha 

  • After breakfast, you will drive to Punakha. On the way, you will visit Ta Dzong in Tongsa and have lunch there.
DAY 16
Punakha - Paro

  • Drive to Paro.

  • You can have your lunch at either Thimphu or Paro.

  • Overnight stay in Paro.

DAY 17
Paro Sightseeing

  • Hike to Taksang Monastery. Clinging to a steep cliff at more than 3,000m, the hike to the monastery will take approximately 4-5 hours. 

  • Visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most imposing temples in the country.
  • It is said that the Tibetan King Sontsen Gampo built 108 temples in the Himalayan region in the 7th century, and Kyichu Lhakhang is one of them. 

  • You will partake in a special meal with a local family in the late afternoon. 

  • Evening at leisure.

  • Overnight stay in Paro.
DAY 18

Departure

  • After morning breakfast, our guide and driver will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight and assist with your luggage. Your beautiful Bhutan tour ends here.
