Guwahati – Shillong (Assam - Meghalaya)

  • Arrive at Guwahati airport, received and transferred to Shillong (130 kms / 3 hrs drive).
  • En-route stop at the scenic view point of the Umiam lake (one of the famous tourist places, the largest man-made lake in Northeast India)
  • Reach Shillong and check into hotel
  • After refreshment, if time permits you can visit Cathedral of Marry and in the evening you can roam the Shillong’s famous Police Bazaar on foot
  • Overnight at  Shillong.
Shillong is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district and is also the capital of Meghalaya. It is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet. 
Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong (Meghalaya)

  • Today after breakfast we set to explore Shillong and Cherrapunjee (56kms/02hrs drive)
  • We will tour places like the Elephant falls and then drive further to Cherrapunjee.
  • At Cherrapunjee we visit the Nohkalikai Falls (the tallest plunge waterfall in North East India), Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sister Fall and Danthlen Falls.
  • After exploring for the day return back to hotel.
  • Overnight at Shillong.

Shillong –Bhalukpong (Meghalaya – Assam)

  • After breakfast drive to Bhalukpong (300 kms / 7 hrs drive).
  • Bhalukpong is a small town located at the border of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh in North East India.
  • Overnight at Bhalukpong
Bhalukpong – Dirang (Assam – Arunachal Pradesh)

  • Today after breakfast drive to Dirang (180 kms / 08 hrs)
  • En-route at Tipi visit Orchid Center
  • Next tour the Sessa Orchid Sanctuary (blooming season is from end March till May)
  • Reach Dirang and visit the Dirang Dzong and Monpa village.
  • Check into the hotel
  • Overnight at Dirang.
Dirang – Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh)

  • Today after breakfast drive to Tawang (160 kms / 08 hrs),
  • En-route you will visit Sella Pass and Sella Lake situated at an altitude of 13476 ft.
  • You will also visit Jaswant Ghar and before reaching Tawang visit the Nunarang fall.
  • Reach Tawang and check into Hotel.
  • Evening at leisure.
  • Overnight at Tawang.

Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh)

  • Today visit the highlight of the tour, Tawang Monastery.
  • Also visit Urgelling Monastery - the birth place of Sixth Dalia Lama. Ani Gompa,
  • After a late lunch and refreshment visit Tawang War Memorial
  • Evening will be at leisure.
  • Overnight at Tawang.

The Famous Gaden Namgyal Lhatse, popularly known as Tawang Monastery was founded by Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in the year 1680-81. The monastery stands on the spur of a hill, about 10,000 feet above sea level and has ravines in the south and west, narrow ridge on the north and gradual slope on the east. It offers a commanding and picturesque view of the Tawang-chu valley. From a distance it appears like a fort as if guarding the votaries in the wide valley below. Tawang monastery is the largest of its kind in the country and is one of the larges t monasteries in Asia. Though it has the capacity for housing about seven hundred monks, the actual number of resident lamas (monks) at present is a little more than 450. This monastery is the fountain-head of the spiritual life of the people of this region.
Tawang – Bomdila (Arunachal Pradesh)

  • After breakfast drive to Bomdila (195 Kms / 7 hrs drive).
  • Overnight in Hotel
Bomdila – Kaziranga (Arunachal Pradesh – Assam)

  • After breakfast drive to Kaziranga National Park (235 kms / 07 hrs) in Assam.
  • Reach Kaziranga check into hotel
  • Overnight stay at Kaziranga.

Kaziranga National Park:
In the heart of Assam, covering an area of 430 sq-kms, is inhabited by the world's largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, as well as many mammals, including tigers, elephants, panthers and bears, and thousands of birds. In 1985, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its unique natural environment.

Note: This is for your information that elephant ride and jeep safari and forest entry are regulated and controlled by the forest dept. Govt. of Assam. As such we do not have any control for booking of elephant seats and entry by jeeps

Kaziranga National Park (Assam)

  • After breakfast enjoy the Park on a Jeep.
  • Evening visit tea garden and local villages.
  • Overnight at Kaziranga.

Guwahati - Airport drop (Assam)

  • After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport towards your onward destination
  • Return home with happy memories and a desire to return for more adventures
